Clearly Redbox is a winner in terms of service and value to it’s customers. And here is my brief synopsis about the Redbox mobile marketing strategy to attract and keep an army of loyal rabid hungry customers.

In the mean time, they win yet another award in terms of marketing…especially in the mobile marketing arena.

Redbox took an old idea and added a new twist. I can get my movie on any corner in America. I don’t have to drive halfway through town or wait for my Netflix movie to come.

Redbox fits right in between the two business models because they limited the selection and focus of movies. They were not trying to offer all movies. They offer select movies in all locations instead.

So I can be in Everett, Washington and decide on my way back to Seattle to get a movie nearly anywhere. I want a movie now. I don’t want to wait. All I need to do to find my nearest Redbox is download an app on my phone.  It takes literally seconds and I can locate exactly what I want.

This works if you have an Android or an iPhone.

So ultimately, again, simplicity is their nature. I can download the Redbox app to my Android or send them a text to get coupon code deals.  Redbox stays connected with me wherever I go.

They are following a very simpe, simple yet so overlooked marketing principle.

When I go to the Redbox mobile marketing page, I am given a few limiting choices.

1. Download the app for Android.

2. Download the app for iPhone.

That’s it. If I don’t have either phone, then I am left with only one other option and that is to get off the page.  The Redbox mobile marketing page communicates its message very well. “Download our app or leave.” It doesn’t give me a million and one things to do or to decide to do.

So if you’re having trouble with your website, maybe it’s time to review your marketing message first. Give one or two choices. Don’t be everything to everybody.
